Housing and Community Development Act of 1974
Summary
The Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 is developed by Congress to develop sustainable urban communities, and it allocates federal assistance funds for public housing by certain criteria, namely slum clearance and public health maintenance. The act intends for the “reduction of the isolation of income groups within communities” and an “increase in the diversity and vitality of neighborhoods through the spatial deconcentration of housing opportunities” for lower income residents.
